At Brush Dance, early summer is our busiest time of year. We are shipping orders out to our largest customers, coordinating time away (because even though we’re crazy-busy at work, everyone deserves a break), and working quickly to finish up our 2019 (!!) calendar designs. It’s busy!
In my personal life, I have already traveled some to see friends and family, and there are another couple of trips on the horizon. I won’t even mention our home remodeling project. When it’s like this, there’s only one thing to do – Embrace The Chaos.
Actually, I like to think of it more as “Embracing the Organized Chaos.” I am the kind of person who enjoys making lists, being organized, and knowing what is coming next. I don’t mind if the plan changes last minute because I know that I can fit any priority item into my schedule.
Priorities. That’s the key, right? Figuring out what is most important and then setting things up so that we can treat those things like the priority they are.
In no particular order, my priorities for this summer:
Brush Dance projects
More practice with drawing/watercolor
Visiting with family and friends
Play board games (we like Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan, and Boggle)
Goal: Complete an entire week’s worth of NY Times Crossword puzzles with my husband
This is such an exciting time of year at Brush Dance. All of our shiny new items are arriving in our warehouse. Orders are streaming in. And 2018 Calendars are shipping out to our retail partners and website customers. Exciting times!
We love our new Monthly Planners. They begin with September 2017 and go all of the way through the end of December 2019 – more than two years of planning bliss. Love, Love, Love!
These perfectly-sized (5″ x 7″) Planners feature:
flexible, smooth matte-finish cover
space for notes or lists
handy mini grids for previous and next months on each page
I plan to keep mine in my bag for jotting appointments, lists, and reminders to myself.
Here we are already – the middle of December. Christmas and Hanukkah will be here before we know it.
Some of us here have finished our shopping and are waiting for the big day. Others are still working their lists.
If you’re planning to order for the holidays (and we hope you are), you’ll want to get on that before the end of this week. Between “interesting” weather patterns this time of year and all of us last minute Santas making delivery people so busy, we can’t promise delivery if your order arrives after this week.
We have mindful gifts ready to ship today for everyone on your list.
We recently received a huge order of Leuchttrum Journals. This red one has been selling out all over the place. Perfect for notes, bullet journals, or list making. (Get one for yourself, too.)
And finally, if you’re looking for fun hostess gifts? We’ve got your back.
It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is this week – and yet here it comes – the kick-off to the busiest time of the year for many of us.
Let’s take a big deep breath and remember to give thanks.
Let’s live a more mindful life – paying attention to the small details that make our lives so special.
Let’s remember to have a crazy good time with friends and family. And let’s remember to take a little time for ourselves, too.
Like most other retailers, Brush Dance is having some pretty incredible sales going through the holiday season. We are grateful that you spend some of your hard-earned money supporting our small business.
All of our Weekly Planners have the same uncomplicated interior design (in varying colors). We feature one week per spread and handy lined spaces for each day of the week. Brush Dance Weekly Planners also have an elastic band to keep things tidy.
I love love love that the year runs straight through these books with no stopping. At the front of the Planner, we feature 14 monthly planning pages. I’ll show you my planner and how I use the pages in a future post.
Brush Dance Date Books have been a favorite for many years. These hardcover books feature monthly illustrated tabbed dividers, one week per page, a nifty pocket, and (again) an elastic band to keep your stuff together.
I’ve decided to use a Weekly Planner this year. The harder decision is going to be which one!
Our Date Books measure 6.5″ x 8.5″ – they would be beautiful for a desk or taken with you in larger bags.
I know I’ll be going with a Weekly Planner for the coming year (I can’t resist the size and simplicity). I just need to figure out which one.
The end of summer is in sight. Most of us have taken our summer vacations and the kids are returning to school. It’s around this time of year that our focus turns to home and taking care of ourselves and our family.
