At Brush Dance, early summer is our busiest time of year. We are shipping orders out to our largest customers, coordinating time away (because even though we’re crazy-busy at work, everyone deserves a break), and working quickly to finish up our 2019 (!!) calendar designs. It’s busy!
In my personal life, I have already traveled some to see friends and family, and there are another couple of trips on the horizon. I won’t even mention our home remodeling project. When it’s like this, there’s only one thing to do – Embrace The Chaos.
Actually, I like to think of it more as “Embracing the Organized Chaos.” I am the kind of person who enjoys making lists, being organized, and knowing what is coming next. I don’t mind if the plan changes last minute because I know that I can fit any priority item into my schedule.
Priorities. That’s the key, right? Figuring out what is most important and then setting things up so that we can treat those things like the priority they are.
In no particular order, my priorities for this summer:
Brush Dance projects
More practice with drawing/watercolor
Visiting with family and friends
Play board games (we like Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan, and Boggle)
Goal: Complete an entire week’s worth of NY Times Crossword puzzles with my husband

We love our new Monthly Planners. They begin with September 2017 and go all of the way through the end of December 2019 – more than two years of planning bliss. Love, Love, Love!

I plan to keep mine in my bag for jotting appointments, lists, and reminders to myself.

Oh my goodness, we love them. At 5″ x 7″, these 2018 Planners feature one week per 2-page spread. Large enough to be useful, small enough to take everywhere! We’ve included 14 months of planning pages (along with calendar grids) at the front of the book. A handy list of holidays, and pages in the back that can be used for notes or contacts.
Available in 19 different styles, each book is customized with its own coordinating color interior.
Brush Dance Weekly Planners are perfect for keeping track of all of your appointments and task. We’ve also heard that our customers are you them for specific planning – maybe you want to keep track of your fitness or food goals?
One of my sweet friends uses the Brush Dance Weekly Planners as a daily journal. Just enough space to write down the day’s happenings, right?
I’m trying to decide between Peace Comes From Within and Maybe Swearing Will Help. I’m thinking both of those things can be true – sometimes in the same moment!
We’re adding so many new items to our website this time of year! I hope you’ll have a look and find something you love.
On Wednesday, Renee Locks will celebrate her birthday, and we are celebrating right along side her.
One of my favorite Renee stories: I’ve been with Brush Dance for something like 12 years – Renee has been here much longer than that. When we first met all of those years ago, she greeted me with, “You don’t look like the president of a company.” Uh..thanks?
We became fast friends, and I regularly tell people that when I grow up, I want to be just like Renee. She is a kind environmentalist who is quick-witted and honest. She is political and doesn’t mind sharing her opinions with those around her. Renee raised her family largely on her own in the San Francisco Bay Area where she still lives. She is a yoga devotee, a teacher, an optimist, and – of course – an artist.
